US firm Baker’s Pride have announced a series of products to cater to allergy sufferers, as well as consumers looking for a healthier option.
The company has expanded its manufacturing capabilities to provide the new products to its private label, regional and national supermarket chain customers.
The new products include a variety of cookies, including gluten-free, muffins and brownies. They will be manufactured in Clear Lakes, Iowa by The South Street Bakery, a new division of Baker’s Pride. The company is also looking at exporting the range internationally.
The South Street Bakery will manufacture both traditional and healthier snack products with attention to smaller, more healthful portions using “better for you” ingredients, such as whole grain flour.
“Millions of people nationwide actively seek out foods with better-for-you ingredients to not only meet dietary requirements, but to simply put better foods into their bodies,” CEO Ron Danko said.
