Four leading berry producers have banded together to form Naturipe Foods, the largest grower-owned value-added berry company in the US.
Michigan-based MBG Marketing, Chile’s Hortifrut, Californian Munger Brothers Farms (MB) and Pan-American Berry Growers of Salem have formed the new company in order to consolidate their market presence and leverage the brand strength of Naturipe Farms, a sister fresh-pack company.
“Through the formation of this new company we will be able to offer customers berries year-round. The geographically dispersed nature of the group will, to an extent, help us take seasonality out of the equation,” a spokesperson for MBG told just-food.
The partnership has created one point of contact for product consistency, tailor-made customer solutions and an expanded product line including IQF, purees, concentrates, powders and extracts/essences.
