Jorge Paulo Lemann, owner of 3G Capital, has reportedly acquired a 20% stake in Brazilian ice-cream maker Diletto.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Lemann bought the stake for around BRL100m (US$50.5m). 3G Capital joined forces with Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway last month to buy ketchup maker Heinz in a $23bn deal.

Sources told the publication the value of the Diletta deal and 3G’s share in the company will “change according to its performance in the coming years”.

The deal was concluded in January and handled through Innova, a fund controlled by Lemann, the sources said.

Neither Diletto nor 3G Capital returned a request for comment.
