The 25 varieties of Healthy Request soups have 15% less sodium. They now contain 410mg per serving, the company said today (22 September) and labels now feature a “bold green heart” to underscore the health benefits of the product.

“For Campbell, heart health is a key strategic priority,” said Lisa Walker, vice president, soup innovation at Campbell Soup Co. “We work closely with the American Heart Association to raise awareness of heart disease and to promote the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. But the most important thing we can do is make heart-healthy products, which is why we have chosen to market Campbell’s Healthy Request soups for people who are taking steps to address their heart health.”

Campbell is highlighting the message in an advertising campaign for TV, print and online as well as on the product labels.

The reduced sodium soups will be on shelves this month in a selection of cans and microwavable bowls. The suggested retail price is US$1.49-$2.49 for the cans and $2.54-$2.59 for the bowls.
