Cargill, the US-based food and agribusiness group, is expanding its baking business with the opening of a centre for product innovation in Minneapolis.

The centre, part of a network of facilities located in North America and Europe, allows bakery customers to collaborate with Cargill technology staff on new product initiatives, the company said.
It will focus on new product development and R&D to “provide solutions to complex technical challenges”.
“Our new Product Innovation Centre, along with the other facilities in our bakery application network, enhance Cargill’s ability to help customers create unique bakery products to fill product pipelines and reduce time to market,” said Sheryl Stennett, Cargill bakery category vice president.
