Cargill has announced it will invest US$5.5m in upgrading its meat packing facility in Hazleton in Pennsylvania.
The US food giant is installing efficiency-boosting packing technology that, the group said, will improve product quality. The company is upgrading to automated product lines, shipping box construction, steak trimming equipment and a centralised monitoring system.
