Dean Foods chief Gregg Engles is to take charge of the company’s dairy business, the US group said last night (29 August).
Engles, president and CEO of Dean Foods, is to assume “direct responsibility” for the company’s dairy division following the departure of Alan Bernon.
Bernon will leave his position as president of Dean’s Dairy Group on 1 September.
The business has suffered as the price of raw milk continues to soar. Profits from the division fell during the second quarter, leading to a drop in company earnings for the first half of the year.
Dean Foods saw underlying net profit reach US$91.4m during the first six months of the year, compared to $129.5m a year earlier.
