The board of US snack maker Diamond Foods has approved a cash dividend of $0.045 per common share.

The dividend, announced today (19 January), will be payable on 2 February to common stockholders of record as of 26 January.
Diamond Foods last month upped its forecast for annual earnings after a first quarter of bumper snack sales – although the company predicted a weaker second quarter.
The company lifted its target for full-year earnings per share from US$1.70-1.80 to $1.72-1.82 after first-quarter snack sales climbed 64% to $60m.
