These cantaloupes have been grown, packed and shipped by an independent third-party grower, Agropecuaria Montelibano of San Lorenzo Valle, in Honduras, the US firm said.
The US Food and Drug Administration has linked fruit from Agropecuaria Montelibano to a Salmonella Litchfield outbreak in the US and Canada.
The products have been distributed throughout the US and parts of Canada in cardboard cartons printed with the “Dole” brand name and “Product of Honduras”, the company said.
The FDA advises consumers to check with the place of purchase to determine if the fruit came from this specific grower and packer.
