Gluten-free food manufacturer Dr Schar has opened its first manufacturing facility in the US.

The European firm has seen strong growth in demand for gluten-free products in Europe and the company said the opening of the New Jersey-based facility would help accelerate growth through improved availability.

Dr Schar’s sales are being driven by growing coeliac diagnosis rates and an increasing number of people becoming aware of the benefits of a gluten-free diet. The company produces over 30 dedicated gluten-free items in the US including bread, pasta, cookies, snacks, crackers & pizza.
