
Speciality juice maker Dream Foods International has entered the Hispanic ambient space with the acquisition of the Casa Mexicana brand from Hispanic Specialty Brands.
Dream Foods founder Adriana Kahane said that the business was a “great addition” to the group’s portfolio of natural and speciality products. “It expands our presence to the dry grocery category and allows us to service the fast growing Hispanic food trends in the market,” she commented.
Roni Goldberg, founder of Hispanic Specialty Brands, added: “Our strong position in the all-natural Hispanic market makes Casa Mexicana an excellent addition to the Dream Foods portfolio of gourmet products. Casa Mexicana will benefit greatly by their distribution, resources and management team.”
Dream Foods said that the Casa Mexicana brand has “exceeded growth expectations” by generating sales “above category average”. The brand is made up of a range of natural and convenient products, from taco seasoning mixes to boxed rice and dried soups.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
