US food and consumer products firm Flagship Food Group has acquired sauce and salsa manufacturer ZD Bottling.

Flagship said the purchase of New Mexico-based ZD Bottling, for an undisclosed sum, will enable it to “extend” its capabilities in sauces, soups and salsas. ZD Bottling manufactures natural, gluten-free products under the 505 Southwestern brand for the retail and foodservice markets.

“After a long and beneficial relationship with ZD Bottling as a supplier, we are thrilled to be bringing the business into the Flagship family so that we can extend our capabilities in sauces, soups, and salsas for all of our customers,” Flagship CEO Rob Holland said.

Two new 505 products are slated for launch in late 2013, including a Chipotle Honey Salsa.
