US confectioner Hershey has elected former Diageo executive Rob Malcolm to its board of directors.
Malcolm, who was the president of global marketing, sales and innovation at the world’s largest beverage alcohol company until 2008, will take on his new role immediately, Hershey said yesterday (7 December).
“We are pleased that Rob is joining the board. His qualifications are substantial,” said James Nevels, chairman of Hershey’s board of directors.
“His vast experience in marketing, building global consumer brands and delivering innovation will be of immense value to The Hershey Company as we continue to expand in North America and key global growth markets.”
Malcolm, who also serves on the board of a number of marketing associations, was responsible for Diageo’s brand management and marketing in 170 countries.
Prior to joining Diageo in 1999, Malcolm held a number of senior positions at consumer goods firm Procter and Gamble over 24 years.
