US frozen food group The Schwan Food Co. has named former PepsiCo and Nestle executive Dimitrios Smyrnios as its new CEO.
Smyrnios will replace Greg Flack, who stepped down earlier this month after five years in the job.

“Schwan is a market leader with an extraordinary strong heritage,” Smyrnios, who will take up the role immediately, said.
Smyrnios’s career began at PepsiCo, where he spent eight years in sales and marketing. He joined Nestle in 1993 at its Nestle Waters business in California. In 2012, he left a role as executive vice president for Nestle Waters’ North American retail division to become president of the Swiss food group’s Dreyer’s ice cream business in the US.
