Campbell Soup Company announced today (29 June) that its directors have elected retired Tetra Pak CEO Nick Shreiber to join the board, effective 1 July.
Shreiber served as president and CEO of food packaging company Tetra Pak from 2000 to 2005. Prior to Tetra Pak, Shreiber was a partner at McKinsey & Company, with responsibility for major industrial and service sector clients in Europe and Latin America.
“Nick’s global experience and knowledge of the food and packaging industries will complement our board,” said Campbell chairman Harvey Golub.
“His experience in Russia and throughout Europe will be especially beneficial to Campbell’s international expansion plans. We look forward to adding another accomplished business leader to our board.”
Shreiber succeeds Philip Lippincott, who retired from the board in November 2008. With Shreiber’s election, the Campbell board will consist of 16 members, 15 of whom will be independent.
