Chiquita Brands International’s board of directors has elected Kerrii Anderson as an independent director, effective 1 April.

The move will increase the size of Chiquita’s board to nine members.
Anderson will also serve as a member of the company’s audit committee.

Anderson most recently served as CEO and president of Wendy’s International, from 2006 to September 2008, when Wendy’s merged with Triarc Companies.
