General Mills is to press ahead with plans to build a new distribution centre in the US city of Fort Wayne.
The company behind Nature Valley snack bars and Cheerios cereal yesterday (31 May) announced that it will spend US$36m on a new facility in the city in the state of Indiana. General Mills admitted in April that it was mulling plans to build a centre in Fort Wayne.
Construction will start next month and General Mills, which has leased distribution space in Fort Wayne for ten years, will transfer to the site in the autumn of 2012. Up to 65 new jobs could be created by the end of 2012.
