General Mills has added a protein bar to its Nature Valley range of snack bars in the US.

Nature Valley Protein Bars are a natural source of energy and contain less than 200 calories, according to the company.

“Nature Valley Protein Bars are made from all-natural ingredients and are a natural source of energy,” Doug Martin, marketing manager for grain innovation, said yesterday (25 January). “With ten grams of protein, each bar helps consumers get more out of every day, while enjoying classic great taste.”

The product is available in two flavours – peanut butter dark chocolate and peanut, almond and dark chocolate. A box of five has a suggested retail price of US$3.89.
