General Mills has has expanded its Yoplait brand in the US with the launch of YoPlus Light, a low-calorie yoghurt designed to improve digestive health.

With 70 calories per pot, YoPlus Light is available in three flavours –  Honey Vanilla, Strawberry Banana and Key Lime.


YoPlus Light contains a special blend of probiotic cultures and a natural dietary fibre and has 36% fewer calories than original YoPlus.


In addition to the probiotic culture Bifidobacterium lactis Bb-12, YoPlus Light contains the live and active yogurt cultures L. bulgaricus and S. thermophilus. It is also a good source of calcium, vitamin A and vitamin D, the company said.


“YoPlus Light’s delicious flavours, smooth and creamy texture, and the added benefit of probiotics make it a win-win option for someone looking for a lower-calorie yoghurt with healthful digestive benefits,” said Ryan Stalker, associate marketing manager for YoPlus.
