US retailer Safeway Inc has joined the recall of ground beef products supplied by XL Foods over fears that it could be contaminated with e-coli.
Ground beef sold at the self-service meat counter and full-service meet cooler at Safeway stores in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington has been recalled. The recall includes all items that use fresh ground beef, such as meatballs, sliders and burgers.

The beef products were supplied to Safeway by XL Foods.
The news follows a recall from the company that resulted in Supervalu Inc’s Albertons issuing a similar recall yesterday.
