Ketchup maker Heinz has promoted its vice president of information technology for Europe, Isobel Thomson, to chief information officer.

Thomson, who joined Heinz in 1998 and has held various IT positions in Europe, will be responsible for driving global IT strategy, structure and governance for the group.

She will replace Karen Alber, who the company said, has decided to leave the company to pursue another career opportunity.

Heinz has also appointed Meg Nollen to global program management officer and office of the chairman. She will continue to serve as senior VP of investor relations while taking on leadership of the the global program management office, which focuses on driving company-wide initiatives to improve global effectiveness and efficiency.

Nollen will also join the office of the chairman (OOC), the most senior policy-making executive management group in the company, led by William Johnson, Heinz chairman, president and CEO.
