In response to reports linking Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups to peanut butter produced by ConAgra and contaminated with salmonella, Hershey has vigorously denied any connection between the two.

The company said that it does not source any peanut butter from ConAgra. “All peanut butter used in Hershey’s Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups is produced by Hershey’s own facilities under the highest quality assurance standards,” Hershey said.
A large-scale outbreak of salmonella, which has affected nearly 300 people since August, has been traced to ConAgra’s production plant in Sylvester, Georgia. The facility has been closed while an investigation into the cause of the outbreak continues.
