Interstate Bakeries Corporation, the US baker, has announced plans to change its name to Hostess Brands, Inc.

The company said the new name was selected in order to leverage the high-recognition of its Hostess brand.
“Hostess has been an important part of Americana for generations and is synonymous with quality and great tasting treats. It is a name that consumers, customers, and our employees recognize and hold in high regard,” Craig Jung, Hostess Brands chief executive, claimed.
Hostess is the group’s best-selling brand, generating more than US$1bn in annual retail sales.
Hostess Brands will continue to manufacture its full line of products, including Hostess Cupcakes, Hostess Twinkies, Wonder bread, and Home Pride.
