US snack maker Inventure Foods has introduced a line of crisps containing a blend of vegetables.

The Garden Select Vegetable Crisps include a blend of 12 vegetables including carrots, celery and tomatoes.

The company said the crisps are made with natural ingredients and are cooked in sunflower and/or safflower oils, which are low in saturated fat and rich in essential fatty acids.

The gluten-free crisps also contain 30% less fat than traditional salty snacks and feature zero trans fats, no cholesterol and no MSG, the company added.

“The growing snack trend is all about healthier snack options,” Steve Sklar, senior vice president of marketing at Inventure’s Boulder Canyon Natural Foods division, said today (21 September).

The crisps are available in Hearty Cheddar, Red Ripe Tomato and Sour Cream & Chive flavours for $2.99 to $3.49 per bag. The crisps will go on sale at selected grocery stores nationwide later this Autumn in five-ounce packages.
