US snack group Inventure Foods is rolling out sweet potato fries under its Boulder Canyon brand this month.

The group said the product was a natural snack that “mirrors the shape, taste and texture” of sweet potato fries. The company said the move was prompted by the growing popularity of sweet potato snacks.

“Unlike a chip, our baked sweet potato fries really embody the form and taste of French fries which sets them apart from other sweet potato snacks on the market today,” said Laura Setzfand, vice president of marketing for Boulder Canyon.

The product is available in grocery stores for a retail price of US$2.99-2.39 per 7.5 ounce bag. The fried are kosher, gluten free, certified GMO-free, contain no trans fats, zero cholesterol and one gram of saturated fat.
