Inventure Foods has claimed it is “advancing” the frozen fruit category in the US with products including five extra vitamins.
The US group has launched Rader Farms Fruit Plus Vitamins, frozen fruit that adds vitamins B1, B6, D, E and K to those already found in the products.
A mixed berry blend, as well as a strawberries and blueberries line, is available, with a suggested retail price of US$7.99 per 21-ounce package.
“Frozen berries are a staple in most households because they offer the perfect combination of great taste, convenience and nutrition all at once,” Dan Hammer, general manager of Inventure’s frozen division, said. “Strawberries, blueberries and blackberries, in particular, provide a healthy dose of fibre, potassium and vitamin C. However, Fruit Plus Vitamins boosts the nutritional value to a whole new level, without altering taste. It’s a product that may revolutionise homemade smoothies and fresh fruit snacking.”
