J&J Snack Foods has completed the acquisition of Pensacola, Florida-based Hom/Ade Foods, the company announced yesterday (9 January).


Hom/Ade makes and distributes biscuits and dumplings primarily to the retail supermarket trade under private label and the Mary B’s brands. The company generated annual sales of approximately US$30m.


Commenting on the deal Gerald B. Shreiber, J&J’s president and chief executive officer, said: “We are very pleased to welcome the Hom/Ade team into our organisation. We look forward to our mutual growth together.”


Hom/Ade’s Greg Lowery will retain his position as president and CEO of the unit. “This is an excellent opportunity to further expand the Hom/Ade business,” Lowery said.


The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
