US pretzel manufacturer J&J Snack Foods Corp has added to its operations with the acquisition of local firm Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels.
As part of the deal, made for an undisclosed sum, co-founder Scott Holstein will continue to work for the company, J&J said on Friday (8 June).
Chicago-based Kim & Scott’s produces pretzels for the US foodservice and retail channels using “all-natural, premium” ingredients. The brand will join J&J’s portfolio of products comprising Superpretzel, Pretzel Fillers and Mary B’s biscuits and dumplings.
“We are pleased to welcome the Kim & Scott’s family into our organisation. We look forward to expanding the brand in the future,” said J&J Snack Foods president and CEO Gerald Shreiber.
