Kellogg has outlined its plans to integrate recently-acquired US granola business Bear Naked into the company.
The world’s largest cereal maker snapped up Bear Naked earlier this month and will close the Connecticut-based operations in a phased process.
A Kellogg spokesperson told just-food that the company would close Bear Naked’s HQ in six months time. A bakery in the city of Stamford will close in a year’s time. The operations will be integrated into Kellogg’s Kashi Co. operations in California.
Bear Naked employs 88 people and the spokesperson said Kellogg would look to offer them other jobs internally or help to find alternative employment.
The spokesperson said Bear Naked is a “true strategic fit” for Kashi, its natural and organic cereals business.
