Kellogg is to launch a honey-sweetened Corn Flakes line in the US in a bid to tap into growing sales of products containing honey.
The US food giant yesterday (18 June) introduced Kellogg’s Corn Flakes with a Touch of Honey to its domestic market, where sales of honey-sweetened products grew 7.5% last year.
Kellogg already sells a honey-sweetened Corn Flakes line in the UK and Susanne Norwitz, director of brand public relations, told just-food the performance of that product had been a factor in the US launch.
“Corn Flakes with a Touch of Honey was well received in Europe. And, we know that new Corn Flakes with a Touch of Honey will only build on the rich heritage of classic Corn Flakes in the United States,” Norwitz said.
The line is Kellogg’s second honey-flavoured offering in the US, although the first product, Honey Crunch Corn Flakes, is no longer on shelves, Norwitz added.
