Land O’Lakes has reported sales of US$1.7bn for the second quarter of 2006, compared to $1.8bn in Q2 last year, offset by challenges in the firm’s dairy foods industrial, livestock, agronomy and eggs businesses.

The dairy company’s net earnings stood at $34.8m for the second quarter, up from $25.8m in the same period of 2006.
Land O’Lakes also reported that year-to-date sales stayed flat, at $3.8bn, net earnings were up to $60.9m, from $50.1m one year ago, and total EBITDA was down to $75.5m for the quarter and $145.0m year to date
The company reduced its guidance for full-year normalised EBITDA to $240m for 2006.
