Ralph Alvarez, the newly named president and chief operating officer of McDonald’s Corporation, has made two new appointments at the fastfood company’s US business.

President of McDonald’s USA central division, Janice Fields, has now been named as executive vice president and chief operations officer at the division, while senior vice president and chief support officer there, James Johannesen, has been appointed president of McDonald’s USA central division.

Don Thompson was elected to succeed Ralph Alvarez as president of McDonald’s USA last Wednesday. He had previously served as executive vice president and chief operations officer for McDonald’s USA.

Alvarez said: “Jan and Jim are seasoned executives who exemplify the strong leadership qualities needed to continue our momentum. Along with our owner/operators, employees and suppliers, they along with the entire US leadership team will continue to drive the US business.”
