Food giant Nestlé has withdrawn two flavours of its its Country Creamery Ice Cream sold in Wal-Mart stores in Texas because the ice cream may contain egg not identified on the label.

The two flavours concerned are Toll House Chocolate Chip and French Vanilla. The potentially affected cartons are the Toll House Chocolate Chip 1.75-quart and French Vanilla 1.75-quart with a “Best If Purchased By 11/10/06” date. However, only 43 mislabeled cartons are believed to have made it into the distribution chain, and these were only sold to Wal-Mart.
The company stressed that the affected cartons posed no risk to people without egg allergies, and no other Country Creamery ice cream products are affected.
