Nestle is investing US$3.8m in an expansion project for its prepared foods business in the US.

Nestle Prepared Foods and Baking told just-food yesterday (4 August) that it will take over a 75,600 sq ft facility in Solon, Ohio.

A spokesperson for Nestle Prepared Foods said: “We will begin renovation and then move the first groups into the office workspace in three to four months.”

The company said it needs the space for its expanding food products businesses, including the Stouffer’s, Lean Cuisine, Buitoni and Nestle Toll House brands.

“In the US, these are successful and well-regarded brands; our business continues to grow and we required additional office space,” the spokesperson said.

Nestle Prepared Foods has eight facilities in the US, in Ohio, South Carolina, Utah, Arkansas, California, Kentucky, Massachusetts and Virginia.
