US meat group Hormel Foods has promoted Jody H. Feragen from the position of vice president finance and treasurer to the role of executive vice president and chief financial officer, succeeding Michael J. McCoy who is retiring from the company.
McCoy, who has been with Hormel for 12 years, is to step down officially on 31 December, after which Feragen will assume her new responsibilities. The company said his retirement was already planned. He will remain as a director at Hormel until 1 January 2008.
As chief financial officer, Feragen will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of Hormel’s operations, including general accounting, information technology, cost accounting and treasury.
Hormel has also announced the appointment of Ronald W. Fielding as executive vice president grocery products, with effect from 1 January 2007. Hormel said Fielding would retain his existing responsibilities leading the grocery products division but also assume additional responsibilities in company acquisitions.
Two further appointments were announced at the Minnesota-based meat firm. Roland G. Gentzler, currently assistant controller and director of refrigerated foods accounting, is to succeed Feragen as vice president finance and treasurer, with effect from 1 January 2007. In this position, he will be responsible for financial analysis, SEC reporting, risk management, cash management, tax and credit.
