The agreement gives Organic Alliance control of the brand and begins with shipments starting this week.
“We are excited about taking over this highly complementary AvocadoMan brand,” said Tom Morrison, company CEO. “AET has done an outstanding job of building AvocadoMan into a strong brand as evidenced by the loyal following with our Canadian grocery store chains and foodservice customer base.
“The successful completion of this acquisition provides ORGC with a substantial platform from which to expand our organic product portfolio and will be used to begin selling into the US, Asian and European markets to buyers like Costco Wholesale, Shanghai Lotus Supermarket Chain Store and Rungis Terminal Market in Paris, France in the near future.”
AvocadoMan revenues for 2008 are expected to more than double the US$12m generated in 2007 according to the brand’s former senior executive Stavros Daskos.
