Hawaii-based Palama Holdings has recalled 4,535 pounds of pork over fears that it could be contaminated with listeria, the US Department of Agriculture said yesterday (10 August).
May’s Hawaii Kalua Brand Pork, in 16-ounce bags, and May’s Kalua Brand Pork in 10-ounce packages are included in the recall.

The products were produced on 4 August and7 August and were distributed to food service and retail establishments in Hawaii.


The USDA Food Safety Inspection Service’s routine microbiological testing discovered the problem.


FSIS has received no reports of illness associated with consumption of this product, the USDA said.
