Publix began testing the Pix fuel/c-store concept in 2001. However, the company said the sale followed an evaluation of the business, including the products and services it offers.

“The sale of Pix locations gives us the ability to remain passionately focused on our core business, our customers and the products and services we offer within our grocery retail environment,” said CEO Ed Crenshaw.
