The new entity will be called Pulmuone Wildwood and, coupled with Pulmuone Co, creates the world’s largest tofu producer and positions the company as a leading provider of soy products.

Young Chul Kang, formerly chief executive officer of Pulmuone USA, will continue in his role at Pulmuone Wildwood. John Breen from Wildwood becomes chief operating officer and Tom Lacina, also from Wildwood, has been appointed executive vice president of Sales and Marketing.

“This merger brings together two like-minded companies whose combined visions will provide consumers with the highest-quality and best tasting soy and tofu products,” said Kang. “Our goal is to become the leading player in the global soy product industry while providing excellent service, innovative new products and socially responsible management.”

The merger gives the company access to five US facilities specialising in production and R&D.
