The company said it is the “first major egg producer” in the US to officially implement a phase-out of cage confinement systems.
Dave Radlo, CEO said: “We’re proud to officially pledge to stop using cage confinement systems and implement a plan to become an exclusively cage-free company within ten years.”
However, Radlo Foods was informed that Egg-Land’s Best has terminated its franchise agreement with the company.
Radlo said: “We are extremely disappointed and surprised by this development. Radlo Foods is one of the Founding Franchisees for Egg-land’s Best, and has been recognised as being a leader in food safety processes and the humane treatment of its flocks.”
