US retailer Safeway has launched a recall of ground beef products in nine states.
The announcement has been made in co-operation with Beef Packers’ recall of 825,769 pounds of ground beef that may be linked to an outbreak of salmonellosis, Safeway said.
Safeway has recalled fresh ground beef products sold between 6 June and 14 July.
The recall affects stores in: Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota and Wyoming.
While the recalled product is no longer in stores, Safeway is asking its customers to check all ground beef in their freezers.
