Sara Lee has introduced breakfast breads made with special whole grains that taste like refined and starchy white bread in the US.

The new 454g breads will retail for US$2.99, and use the same grain released by ConAgra Foods that Sara Lee uses in its Soft and Smooth bread, which last summer sold more than 8 million loaves.
The bread appears white but contains 30% whole grains that are mixed with refined white flower. Whole-grain consumption is associated with decreased risk of several diseases, yet Americans regularly cite colour, texture and taste as barriers to eating more whole-grain products.
The new product line also includes bagels and English muffins
