The Schwan Food Company is a privately held firm which produces Tony’s, Red Baron and Freschetta branded frozen pizza. Its core business is a fleet of home delivery trucks that distribute casseroles, ice cream and frozen foods to homes in the continental US. The purchase of Holiday Foods brings the manufacture of high-end and speciality hors d’oeuvres and canapés into the Schwan portfolio.
“We’ve always been impressed by Holiday Foods and its fantastic handmade specialties,” said vice chairman, president and CEO Lenny Pippin. “The business has regional strength in the Southeast. With our marketing expertise and connections in the foodservice and retail industries, we believe we can rapidly grow this business.”
