Smart Balance has announced its entry into the US organic soy milk category with the launch of Earth Balance Organic Soymilk.
The maker of “heart healthy” foods said yesterday (26 July) that the range will be sold in Original, Vanilla, Chocolate, and unsweetened varieties, exclusively at Whole Foods Market stores through 2010.

The range, Smart Balance claimed, is organic, certified non-genetically modified and made with soybeans only grown in the US.
The products are also free of lactose, cholesterol, dairy, and gluten, the firm said.
“This new product joins the super-premium family of Earth Balance branded products, including buttery spreads, shortenings and nut butters. Importantly, it will provide consumers with the only refrigerated soy milk product in the market that is both organic and non-GMO Project certified,” Smart Balance chairman and CEO Stephen Hughes said.
