US-based tuna and prepared seafood firm StarKist has confirmed that its CEO has left the company.
A spokesperson for the firm told just-food today (24 November) that its president and CEO Donald Binotto left the company on Friday. The spokesperson declined to comment on reasons for Binotto’s departure.
Reports have suggested that StarKist’s board made the decision for Binotto to leave.
StarKist has appointed chairman Ingu Park as acting president while the firm begins a search for a new president and CEO.
Asked about potential replacements, the spokesperson said: “We will know more when Ingu arrives at the company headquarters next week.”
