Californian grocer Stater Bros. has promoted two company veterans to top management positions.
The company, which owns 164 stores in southern California, has named Dennis McIntyre as executive vice president of marketing and George Frahm as executive vice president of retail operations and administration.
McIntyre joined Stater Bros. in 1978 and gained a marketing role at the retailer in 1994. Frahm joined the company in 1973 and has held senior positions in its labour relations department.
Chairman and CEO Jack Brown said: “George and Dennis are well-respected and valuable members of our senior management team. Their promotions reflect the leadership skills and the contributions that each has made and will continue to make to the success and growth of Stater Bros.”
Stater Bros. posted a 1.7% rise in like-for-like sales for the year to the end of September. Operating profit reached $132.3m, up from just short of $93m a year earlier.
