Tesco currently operates 37 outlets throughout Southern California, Nevada and Arizona.
A spokesperson for Tesco said the company is targeting a portfolio of 50 stores by the end of this year and 150 by the end of 2009 but refused to br drawn on the potential location of the stores.
“We are focusing our efforts on the California, Nevada and Phoenix area at the moment so it would be unfair to comment on anything else at this time,” he said
