UK retail giant Tesco has unveiled plans to open Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market throughout the Los Angeles area.

The company said that 12 store locations had already been identified and additional locations are currently being sought. Each store will be smaller than a standard supermarket to give customers a faster, easier shopping experience, the company said.

“Nowhere is our approach to serving every neighbourhood more evident than Los Angeles, where we will open stores everywhere from Hollywood to Compton,” said Tim Mason, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market CEO. “Everyone deserves the opportunity to shop for fresh, quality foods at prices they can afford and Los Angeles is no exception.”

The retailer is also planning to open Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market stores throughout San Diego, Phoenix and Las Vegas later in the year.
