Tyson Foods has “temporarily” laid off 60 workers at a meat production plant in Iowa as some of the output has been shifted to another facility.
The US meat giant has made the cuts at its factory in Cherokee in Iowa.

Speaking to just-food, a spokesperson for Tyson Foods said the company did not “take this decision lightly”. He said it would work with affected staff to potentially relocate them, possibly at its site in Storm Lake in Iowa or a plant in Dakota City in Nebraska or a

At the end of last week, just-food reported on the rumours Tyson was in talks to acquire Michael Foods. Tyson Foods declined to comment.
