Unilever US has announced that it has converted its Shedd’s Spread Country Crock regular and Country Crock Churn Style soft spreads to trans-fat-free formulations.

The company, which completed the reformulation in June, said the new trans-fat-free versions offer important nutritional benefits while preserving the products’ taste. It also pointed out that the Country Crock spreads were primarily trans-fat-free already.

“The Country Crock reformulation is part of our overall strategy to create great-tasting products that spread as smoothly as ever and are superb choices for health-conscious consumers,” said Keith Bobier, senior marketing director, Shedd’s Spread Country Crock. “Our trans-fat-free Country Crock products give consumers even greater flexibility in managing their diets while allowing them to enjoy the smooth texture and taste of a high-quality, high-performing soft spread.”

These new trans-fat-free spreads join other products in the Country Crock line which are already trans-fat-free, including Shedd’s Spread Country Crock Light, Shedd’s Spread Country Crock Plus Calcium & Vitamins, Shedd’s Spread Country Crock Plus Yogurt, and the recently launched Shedd’s Spread Country Crock Spreadable Butter with Canola Oil.
